Protection and redaction
Understand document restrictions and remove sensitive content deliberately.
The editor reports document restrictions and may request the appropriate password for a protected PDF. A password that opens a file is not always the password that permits editing or copying. Use protection settings only on documents you are authorized to change, and keep the passwords with your own records.
To remove sensitive content, use Redact and apply the marked redactions. Drawing a black rectangle or adding a comment only covers the view; it does not prove the underlying content was removed. Save a new copy, reopen it and inspect the result, including search, copied text and any attachments or metadata relevant to your document.
